All our Solar kits includes installation within 60km of Cape Town area. Roof inspection and available space required for the panels must be confirmed as some kits includes a large amount of solar panels. All the displayed options is for roof installation. Flat roof requires an angled bracket and a separate quote will have to be done for such installations.

Please note some common sense is required when living with a solar System.

You cannot run heaters, stoves, Geysers, Kettles or any element products on the batteries as this will drain them quickly. These products should be run during full sunlight days to take advantage of the Free sun energy from the solar panels.

We connect all plugs and lights to the solar system. The geyser, electric stove tops, pool pumps and Electric car chargers will not be connected unless the Solar System can handle the loads.

Solar panels are designed to last 25 years with a slight degradation of power over time. Panels should still make 80% of its rated power after 20 years.

LifePo4 Batteries are designed to do a minimum of 3500 cycles. with the average household and with current load-shedding, that's 1 cycle a day. Giving you a 10 year plus battery life if you don't overload the batteries.

So the system should last you way past the warranty periods as we include all the Surge protection in all our systems.

If you take an average system of R140 000 and divide that by the battery life expectancy, the average price of your solar system on a monthly charge is R 1166.66c per month. But you will also save on electricity in the long run as electricity goes up on a yearly basis. Paying your system off even faster.

Battery Backup Systems

Battery Backup Systems that can be expanded on a later stage. This is Stage 1 of a 2 stage setup but these systems can at least give you backup power to work towards a full solar system to become independent and self sufficient.

These kits will consist of a inverter of your choice and a battery - Altsolar will be doing the installation for you so you have peace of mind that you will be free or at least semi free of loadshedding.
